“The best result, from working with Jackie, is that my knees don’t hurt after exercise any more and I’m doing something I never thought possible – running! I look younger, feel fitter and stronger and have dropped two dress sizes (nearly three!)”.

Before starting with Jackie I had been a member of the gym for a year but hadn’t been for the six months. I had also tried many weight loss ‘clubs’ such as weightwatchers, etc, which had produced small results for a short period but then I lost motivation and stopped going. I had at least three stone to lose, my knees were hurting when I did long walks and I felt very unfit. At 45 I was really beginning to look and feel my age – or even older.

What has been very good for me is Jackie’s persistence and perseverance. When the weight was not moving in the first three to four months, due to an under-active thyroid and, to be honest, not always doing what I should, she did not give up or just carry on with one method. Jackie changed the methods and supplements until we found something that worked – or something that I would actually do. She also brought in support ‘troops’ such as a Joanne Henson (Weight-loss Coach) which helped me change the way I thought about food.

Working with Jackie been lots of fun, I like the sessions because they are different each week and I never know what I am letting myself in for. She always pushes me to do more than I think I can do and is always checking for proper techniques. When I took up some free PT sessions, that were offered at work, the trainer there said I had the best ‘squat’ technique out of his students – I told him that was only after nine months of Jackie’s corrections!

The best result, from working with Jackie, is that my knees don’t hurt after exercise any more and I’m doing something I never thought possible – running! I look younger, feel fitter and stronger and have dropped two dress sizes (nearly three!). I can highly recommend Jackie, now that I have ‘graduated’, one of my good friends has now taken over my session ‘slot’ and has lost over a stone already!

“The best result is having strength I never thought I would have and great muscle tone. As I am now in my early 50’s, I find myself with the best body I have ever had!”

Before I started working with Jackie, I found it difficult to carry even moderate weight such as food shopping etc. I had low muscle tone, hated exercise, and found any excuses to avoid doing any.

Initially I was worried that perhaps I was going to be pushed too hard and be aching after a session which is what had happened to me in the past. Also, I have a very busy life with a demanding job and a small child, and at first, I found it difficult to make time for gym classes.

Also, despite being just as busy if not busier, I now (almost) look forward to my sessions with Jackie. Training sessions are never too hard, I hardly even sweat, but by some miracle I feel I am a lot stronger and have muscle tone in all the right places and I’m even willing to put the weights up now!

It was great to work with Jackie in person, then as the pandemic hit and we were in lockdown, we started our online sessions. This provided more flexibility going forward, as I could keep up the training sessions when staying at my Italian residence as well as when I’m in London. The bonus of that was when Jackie moved back to New Zealand a couple of years ago, we stayed with the online sessions, and I was very happy to not lose my trainer!

The best result is having strength I never thought I would have and great muscle tone. As I am now in my early 50’s, I find myself with the best body I have ever had!

“The best result has been noticeable improvements in strength and muscle tone. Additionally, along with the desired half stone weight-loss and several inches gone from my waist, I am now doing 10 Push-ups, something I’ve never been able to do before – ever!”

Before I started training with Jackie, I cycled regularly so was undertaking cardiovascular exercise, but I had not really ever undertaken regular resistance training to build strength and I had very weak upper body strength in particular. Despite being of a generally slim build, I have never had muscle definition especially around the abdomen.

As I started the training sessions after lockdown I had some reservations about it and thought it was a gamble to start training with someone that I hadn’t met first in person. Furthermore, I wasn’t sure how the online/remote sessions would go and if I would maintain the dedication to maintain the momentum required to benefit from the investment.

The process of working with Jackie has been excellent. I have really enjoyed the twice weekly sessions and look forward to them. I have found that Jackie’s encouragement during the actual sessions, alongside the other online tools employed, has helped me to keep on track with agreed targets – in a way that I would not have imagined I could maintain. I now have a much greater appreciation of how important it is to build strength training into your routine no matter how busy you are.

The best result has been noticeable improvements in strength and muscle tone; whilst I need to keep working on this, the twice weekly sessions mean that there was noticeable progress almost immediately and this has continued throughout the programme. Additionally, along with the desired half stone weight-loss and several inches gone from my waist, I am now doing 10 Push-ups, something I’ve never been able to do before – ever!

“Jackie’s seemingly never-ending enthusiasm also kept me going, and on top of that, she made it fun.”

Jackie became my personal trainer and nutrition coach after I joined the gym, obese at the age of 43. I turned to her because I had no idea how to change my diet and what to do around exercise. Jackie changed all that, the weight started melting off within weeks, and my change in shape and strength helped keep me motivated. Jackie’s seemingly never-ending enthusiasm also kept me going, and on top of that, she made it fun. Now I’m a personal trainer myself, thanks to Jackie!

“The best results have been getting back into enjoying working out as well as dropping a substantial amount of weight – 30kgs so far! Thanks to Jackie I’ve learned much better exercise techniques for my body and subsequently I am much stronger and feel great!”

Before I started working with Jackie I was recovering from a broken metatarsal in my left foot. I had been going to the gym two years prior to the accident, the first year with a personal trainer, but my training ethic had slipped and I lost my way due to the pain in my foot. I needed a kick up the bum to get started again, with the renewed purpose of losing significant weight this time as I found being 150+kg with a broken foot rather challenging.

I chose Jackie because she seemed like a tough cookie; however, I was concerned that it might feel odd with her being half my size and I was already particularly touchy about feeling like a giant, but it hasn’t been an issue at all!

It’s been truly amazing training with Jackie and I’ve worked through some challenging issues with her, both physical and mental. The communication between us has been great and I feel there’s nothing I could say to her that we can’t work through. She was especially wonderful when coronavirus hit and we went into lockdown. She adapted to the situation with remarkable ease and I’m in awe of how she’s continued to deliver a personalised service to each one of her clients. She’s super enthusiastic and genuinely interested in people, and you can tell she loves being a personal trainer.

Since working with Jackie I’ve achieved the initial goals of getting back into enjoying working out as well as dropping a substantial amount of weight – 30kgs so far! The added bonuses are that my posture has also improved (I thought it was beyond saving!) and the pain in my foot went away in a relatively short period of time. Thanks to Jackie I’ve learned much better exercise techniques for my body and subsequently I am much stronger and feel great!

“Most important of all, Jackie has helped me to understand that exercise is more than just a means to an end – it’s important to take the time to reflect on what I have achieved and to remember the reasons why health and fitness are important to me.”

Before I started training with Jackie, I had recently given up playing competitive netball, having played either at County or National League level for about 25 years. When I was playing netball, I always had a goal in mind when I was training – it was all aimed at making me a better player. But almost overnight that focus and routine disappeared, so my workouts had become very unstructured and I was only really going through the motions. No surprise then that I wasn’t seeing any positive results, had started to put on weight, and was feeling demotivated and unhappy.

Working with a personal trainer was an idea I had been thinking about for a while, so I was excited but also a little apprehensive before our first meeting. Although I had always been interested in fitness and thought I was reasonably well-informed, there’s nothing quite like being exposed to professional scrutiny, as I quickly found out when Jackie looked through my first week’s food diary!

It soon became clear that Jackie understood what was important to me and what I wanted to achieve from my training. She was also prepared to work around some of the injuries I had from a lifetime of competitive sport, coming up with strategies and adaptations to take these into account. She has opened my eyes to a different way of thinking about nutrition with a focus on eating as healthily as possible as often as possible, being accountable to myself but not being overly self-critical if I occasionally fall off the wagon. Jackie motivates me to try things in the gym I would never have had the confidence to try on my own. Always up-to-date with the latest research, she is supportive and encouraging, sets realistic and achievable goals, and provides constant positive feedback.

There have been so many benefits from working with Jackie, almost too many to mention! But the main ones have been – the increase in fitness, strength and flexibility from the challenge of learning new exercises and performing them correctly. A change in my physique that has helped to improve my body image, increased my self-confidence and equipped me with the knowledge to make the correct choices about how to eat healthily.

When the first COVID lockdown in the UK was looking imminent in March of 2020, Jackie was ahead of the game, recommending equipment to buy for home and setting up online sessions on Zoom. Despite the initial challenges, the transition to virtual training was seamless and we quickly adjusted to the new way of working together, gradually adding in extra bits of kit and different ways of exercising as we ironed out the kinks. Since Jackie has moved back to NZ, we have just carried on in the same vein despite us being on different sides of the world.

Most importantly of all, Jackie has helped me to understand that exercise is more than just a means to an end – it’s important to take the time to reflect on what I have achieved and to remember the reasons why health and fitness are important to me as well as looking forward to new challenges.

“The best result from working with Jackie is an improved equilibrium and no more back pain, plus better posture, as I was starting to stoop.”

Before Jackie and I started to work together, I had often thought that I should do something more than just walking and gardening, but I did not really know what to do and how. I did not have any reservations about training with Jackie, on the contrary, when I found out what she could do, I thought – grab the chance, it can’t get better!

Working with Jackie is a lot of fun, positive and uplifting, plus if I’m struggling with a niggle or injury, she quickly adapts the exercises to work around it. Also, it’s very good to have a fixed time to train (which we do 3 x week), and being able to adjust that to online training when travelling is ideal, including having exercises to do in a camper van when I’m on the road.

The best result from working with Jackie is an improved equilibrium and no more back pain, plus better posture, as I was starting to stoop. Also, recently at my annual breast cancer remission check up with the oncologist, he remarked that the weight training plus a bit of interval fasting was the best thing I could do/could have done to prevent a re-occurrence. He was very pleased with my improvement

Extra benefit: Participating in the Conqueror Virtual Challenges as part of Jackie’s “Fit & Fabulous Team”. It’s been great doing walking with stories about tours I have always wanted to do, plus it’s more encouragement to go for walks and generally be more active.”

“Apart from the improvements in my stamina and tone, the best result for me was the shift I noticed in being conscious of what I eat and drink. Even now, a month after finishing working with Jackie, and throughout my holiday travels, I am still thinking about everything I eat and drink and making healthier choices. This was one of my weakest areas previously, so that for me, is a fantastic result!”

I had known Jackie for over a year by the time we started working together and so I knew that she was knowledgeable in her field and would give me the proverbial kick up the butt that I needed!
Before we started working together, I had fallen out of any sort of regular exercise pattern and was not eating consciously. I decided to commit to a 3 month program to get myself back on track and into healthy habits in time for summer.

Working with Jackie was great fun! I enjoyed our weekly sessions together which, although challenging, didn’t scare me enough to stop me coming back. The training plan she set out for me was varied enough to prevent me getting bored or stuck in a rut and, more importantly for me, made me accountable to someone else as well as myself. This definitely helped on the days when I just wanted to go home after work rather than exercise. Writing the food diary was eye opening as I realised just how much ‘naughty’ food and drink can sneak in to your day without much conscious thought.

Apart from the improvements in my stamina and tone, the best result for me was the shift I noticed in being conscious of what I eat and drink. Even now, a month after finishing working with you, and throughout my holiday travels, I am still thinking about everything I eat and drink and making healthier choices. This was one of my weakest areas previously, so that for me, is a fantastic result. Thanks Jackie!

“The best result is that I have learned how to exercise properly and I look and feel better.”

I was visiting the gym a few times a week before I started working with Jackie but doing the same exercises and seeing little effects. As someone with little co-ordination who can confuse right and left I thought I might embarrass myself but Jackie always makes it fun and varied.

The workouts have been really tough – especially over FaceTime during the COVID lockdowns but the feeling of achievement once they’re over is amazing!

Now two days a week I start my day with Jackie training me via FaceTime at my home in London, using resistance bands and dumbbells. I wasn’t sure being trained from the other side of the world would be effective but Jackie is as tough and dedicated as she was in the gym and never misses a thing, including when I breathe at the wrong time! I’ve had a few comments on how trim I’m looking recently and I can feel the difference too.

The best result is that I have learned how to exercise properly and I look and feel better. Thanks, Jackie!

“The best result by far is that I discovered a genuine love of exercise that I never had before and I have maintained the same healthy weight for over 5 years. Jackie transformed not only how I exercise but how I feel about exercise and how often I exercise. It has changed my fitness and physique forever.”

Before seeing Jackie I was stuck in a rut with my exercise routine, running 3 miles, 3 times a week and seeing no real change to my fitness or physique. This meant that I found it a chore, I never really enjoyed the exercise I was doing as I saw no results.

I also believed that I should only be doing cardio exercise to lose weight. So I was nervous about starting with a PT, as I thought that I’d have to work out with weights and that I wouldn’t enjoy it.

Working with Jackie was fantastic, her PT style suited me down to the ground. She took the time to understand what I wanted to achieve and knew how to push me to reach my goals. Jackie could tell that I really wanted to work hard and knew how to get the best out of me. It wasn’t just about the exercise ether, Jackie took the time to talk through all sorts of issues that were affecting my emotional and physical health. Chatting was always between reps of course!

The best result by far is that I discovered a genuine love of exercise that I never had before. Exercising with weights and body weight/resistance exercises mean that I have maintained the same healthy weight for over 5 years, I truly love going to the gym 4-5 times a week and still use the techniques that Jackie taught me. She gave me the confidence to stand amongst the men in the weights section and own it! Jackie transformed not only how I exercise but how I feel about exercise and how often I exercise. It has changed my fitness and physique forever.

“Aside from making a friend, the best result is that Jackie has helped me change “I can’t” to “I can” and, along with the wanted weight-loss, has helped me to feel a lot fitter and stronger.”

Before I started working with Jackie I had just been given the all clear after a horrendous year fighting breast cancer. I knew I needed to get fit and lose weight for my health and had joined the gym, and had lost some weight but found I was aimlessly doing the same exercises and routines and did not know how to work towards my goals.

I was fat and unfit and worried I would not be able to cope with a trainer – I had visions of being asked to do things I just wasn’t capable of and being disillusioned as a result-thankfully that definitely has not been the case

Working with Jackie has been empowering – she helped me to realise I could do things with some help and advice that I did not think I could. Jackie has been really patient and encouraging with me when I go through my “I can’t” periods. It has not just been about losing weight and working out but also what I eat, attitudes to food and mental wellbeing. She has also given me great encouragement during COVID19 lockdown to keep going.

When Jackie moved to NZ, I wasn’t sure how remote training would work with training me at my gym in London, but it does work well and I was very happy not to “lose” my trainer! She can still see everything I do, so corrects and encourages me as if she were right next to me in the gym. If anything, training virtually gives us more flexibility, as no need to be physically there and if needs be, I can move sessions and timings very easily.

Aside from making a friend, the best result is that Jackie has helped me change “I can’t” to “I can” and, along with wanted weight-loss (this is still a work in progress though), has helped me to feel a lot fitter and stronger.

“The best result is that I’ve learned what exercises I need for different parts of my body and I still do what Jackie taught me – seeing how if I put in the work as she directs, I get the body I want!”

I used to go to the gym a couple of times a week, before working with Jackie, but I realised that I didn’t really know which exercises would help me develop strength and tone, which was my main interest. So I just did mostly cardio because I had never tried weights. I think I probably wasted a lot of time this way.

Also, having never had personal trainer before, I was a bit anxious about whether it would be “too hard” and I wasn’t sure if the expense would be worth while.

So I “bit the bullet” and started working with Jackie, it was clear straight away that she is a great guide. We did full body work outs and I learned how important weights and resistance exercise are for developing tone, burning fat and increasing metabolism. She always made it fun, informative, and drove me as hard as I wanted but always made me feel comfortable. And the results showed within weeks (and you can feel them the days right after working down as your muscles keep working).

Jackie also introduced me to the NuSkin range and I’ve bought the Galvanic spa for home facials – it is amazing!

The best result is that I’ve learned what exercises I need for different parts of my body and I still do what Jackie taught me – seeing how if I put in the work as she directs, I get the body I want!

Adiba Osmani

“The best result is that I am stronger, firmer and fitter!”

I knew how to exercise before I started training with Jackie but didn’t have a pattern or routine and was only doing cardio and yoga, no strength training.

I didn’t have any reservations on working with her and the process has been great! Jackie has been a positive force and given solid structure to my life this year. It’s a year where I have gained much strength and some weight loss and without her I would have gained many, many pounds – especially during Lockdown!

The best result is that I am stronger, firmer and fitter!

Alexa Weselby

“The best result for me is that I feel back to my old self, I’m recovering and am optimistic that there’s more good stuff to come. Rather than slogging round the triathlon, I loved it, I bounded round with a smile on my face the whole way. I’ve got my enthusiasm back. I’ve also lost a few pounds, but I’m never hungry and whilst I wasn’t trying to lose weight, that’s always an added bonus as a body conscious women.”

When I started working with Jackie I was at my wits end. I have to admit that I was sceptical, but I was at the point where I was willing to try anything. I’ve run a couple of marathons before, but in the weeks running up to my third I just became more and more tired, I put it down to the impact of tapering and pushed on, but at mile 14 I was exhausted, light headed and faint and the Red Cross advised me not to go on. I was devastated. In the weeks following I just couldn’t recover, no amount of rest or sleep made me feel any better. It was a struggle just to get up every day, paint a smile on my face and keep going. Work was a real struggle, I just couldn’t concentrate for any length of time and at times my head would just spin.

My reservations were because I’d heard that anyone can call themselves a nutritionist without any qualifications. I also thought, what else can I change? I already go to the gym, try to eat well and get enough sleep, I know I drink a bit too much, but doesn’t everyone and that wouldn’t make a big difference anyway. But, blood tests from my doctor came back clear despite having a fainting fit during the extraction and I felt I was running out of options.

The process was great. Jackie is friendly and great to talk to, our sessions often over run just because we were chatting. She also really knows her stuff and I imagine tailors her style to individuals. She quickly picked up that I’m a real details person, so I got lots of additional information to read at home. The diet changes aren’t massive and they feel really nice. Jackie is also a realist. When I met her I was training for my first Olympic distance triathlon. My Saturday routine tended to me 40K on the bike, 10K run and then a burger and a pint (or 2 or 3) in the pub afterwards to celebrate. That was the first confession of my food diary, but Jackie said to keep it. It’s a treat and well deserved after the training. She isn’t going to put you on a diet of food that’s hard to make and isn’t any fun, she helps you fit the changes into your life and gives you alternatives for if you’re in more of a rush than usual.

The best result for me is that I feel back to my old self, I’m recovering and am optimistic that there’s more good stuff to come. Rather than slogging round the triathlon, I loved it, I bounded round with a smile on my face the whole way. I’ve got my enthusiasm back. I don’t come back after a day and collapse, I get on with things. I can stay out late if I’m having fun and not worry about the next day. A cup of tea and a sit or a good night’s sleep really revive me as they should. I’ve also lost a few pounds, but I’m never hungry and whilst I wasn’t trying to lose weight, that’s always an added bonus as a body conscious women. Thank you Jackie!

Claire

“The most surprising thing, and best result, was realising that it wasn’t just about the weight and how I looked, it was about everything else. I’m making the most of this new-found energy and I feel great. I feel educated, and I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before. It’s been profoundly life-changing and I know it will have long-term benefits for me and my family. Thank you Jackie!”

The situation I was in before starting Jackie was one of exhaustion; I had two children at primary school and have been exhausted ever since my son was born! That sense of never catching up with myself and being in a constant state of ‘fog’ and anxiety. Worse is that I am a terrible planner, and so I was living from one day to the next, just getting through. 4 years after my son was born, there was one good thing though… we were sleeping through the night. Hurrah!

There was no element of planning at the weekend either! I was fuelled by caffeine and wrong foods and very little exercise. The last two years I couldn’t seem to climb out of that way of being. I joined the gym first of all and started to feel better immediately going to classes, but I still didn’t lose any weight. I did, however, have a bit more energy. Emotionally I was feeling quite a bit better, but I was still in a fairly negative place – my approach to life could generally be described as doom-laden at that point!

I figured if I was going invest in myself and ‘lay the money down’, this program had to work. Also, as I’m not a natural born cook and I don’t have an innate passion for food I was nervous about being able to implement the nutrition part of the programme.

It has been an education working with Jackie – we found a pace that worked for me. There were a lot of changes to be made, and I could only sustain them if I took one step at a time. Jackie was patient, but still pushed me totally out of my comfort zone. So it’s been some journey. I still have a way to go, but I know what I need to do now.

The most surprising thing, and best result, was realising that it wasn’t just about the weight and how I looked, it was about everything else. The emotional and physical effect food has is phenomenal. I knew that before, but I’d never truly recognised or appreciated it. Now, I have a full night’s restful sleep, and I feel in control of my life. I’m making the most of this new-found energy and I feel great. I feel educated, and I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before. It’s been profoundly life-changing and I know it will have long-term benefits for me and my family. Thank you Jackie!

“The best result for me is the good habits I’ve learnt and how to push myself more. I would say improving my body’s tone and muscle is a work in progress but I feel like I’m certainly making progress!!”

I had been going to the gym for years but didn’t see any discernible difference in my shape. In fact, I had given up on ever making a change until I started training with Jackie – I wish I’d met her years ago! Jackie keeps me on the straight and narrow, which hasn’t been easy, as I’ve a tendency to stray and self- sabotage… so she is realistic about my capabilities and sets achievable goals. Along with advising me on diet, Jackie has taught me the most effective way to exercise, how to lift weights correctly and use the machines properly. I also box with Jackie once a week and I thoroughly enjoy these sessions, I’ve even earned a fighter name – “The Brawler”! The best result for me is the good habits I’ve learnt and how to push myself more. I would say improving my body’s tone and muscle is a work in progress but I feel like I’m certainly making progress!!

Jackie is a highly accomplished personal trainer, with a wealth of knowledge regarding exercise, health and other areas of wellbeing. She is a great motivator and inspires confidence, I have no hesitation in recommending Jackie as a top rate personal trainer

”I now love weights and my new found strength!”

I had never had a trainer before Jackie, or done weights, or gone to the gym on a regular basis and I was a bit reluctant to sign up for a series of sessions. At the same time, however, I was keen to get in shape, lose a few pounds and feel better about my body.

Within weeks of starting working with Jackie everything had changed. I became fitter and stronger, my posture improved, and also my sense of wellbeing. I now love weights and my new found strength. Jackie is a fantastic trainer, full of positive energy and enthusiasm, and I really look forward to our sessions together!
