About Jackie

Hi, I’m Jackie Ashdown, the founder of Age Drop Personal Training & Coaching and a Licensed Menopause Champion in proud partnership with the Menopause Experts Group (MEG). I am passionate about supporting, educating, and empowering midlife women to not just survive this transition but to thrive!

My entry into helping people feel better was with qualifying as a Sports and Therapeutic Massage Therapist waaay back in ’97. I then ran my Sportsworks Massage Therapy business for 3 years, before doing the usual Kiwi OE rite of passage and moved to London in 2000, using London as a base to travel and explore the world.

While in the UK, with a life-long love of sport, being a foodie, and wanting to help others, I decided to become a Personal Trainer.

Over the years I continued my studies in various fitness modalities, nutritional therapy, and became a coach of nutrition, lifestyle, mindset, and behavioural change. Along the way, Age Drop Personal Training & Coaching was founded in 2013.

In more recent years, as I’m going through the menopause journey myself, I have focused my studies on all thing’s menopause. This included becoming a Menopause Champion with MEG, so that I could better help other midlife women live their best lives.

Then after 21 years of being based in London, I moved back to Aotearoa New Zealand in January 2022 and have settled into the lovely town of Kerikeri, Northland, known for its subtropical climate (aka the “winterless north”), beautiful waterfalls, and some of the most historic buildings in the country (pictured). With a population of under 10,000 people it’s a big change to London!

I have over 20 years’ experience of training clients and coaching them to make permanent, healthy changes to their lifestyle, and I work closely with each client to create a bespoke programme that helps them achieve their goals. I am fully committed to helping each person achieve life-changing results while making exercise and healthy living fun and achievable.
